A keynote speaker for hospitality and tourism, from inside the industry
Few keynote speakers understand travel from as many angles as Paris Norriss. He is a keynote speaker on grit and mindset, an adventurer who has run marathons on seven continents, and CEO of Blazing Sand Studios, whose adventure travel shows have been distributed in 123 countries and aired on Dubai TV, OSN, Emirates, flydubai, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia. For hotel groups, tourism boards and travel conferences, he brings the energy of The Grit Code together with a storyteller's view of how and why people travel.
On the biggest stages in tourism
- UN Tourism General Assembly, Riyadh (November 2025). Paris spoke at the Opening Ceremony of the plenary session of UN Tourism's General Assembly, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in front of delegations, ministers and affiliate members from across the global tourism industry. The same assembly saw Blazing Sand Studios inducted as an affiliate member of UN Tourism.
- IHG Ignite, Dubai (November 2025). At a three-day IHG Hotels & Resorts event, Paris told the story of seven marathons on seven continents in 5 days, 21 hours and 51 minutes. One attendee said it "makes any work challenge feel achievable!"
- Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum (SITTF) (November 2025). Paris gave a keynote on the rise of the digital nomad traveller, drawing on the three months he spent living among digital nomads in Hawaii after rowing the Pacific.
- Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani, Maldives (April 2026). Guest keynotes at two of the world's most celebrated resorts, the second delivered barefoot on the sand with the Indian Ocean behind him.
Why hospitality audiences connect with The Grit Code
Hospitality is a people business that runs every hour of every day. Front-line teams deal with long shifts, demanding guests and constant change, while leaders juggle occupancy, staffing and new brands. The Grit Code speaks directly to that reality. The Pacific row was run in two-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, for 39 days; the World Marathon Challenge meant performing on seven continents with almost no recovery. Paris turns those stories into lessons on consistency, teamwork and service under pressure.
A travel storyteller's view
Paris has spent 17 years in the Gulf making TV shows that uncover the culture of the Middle East. His series Guy in Dubai, four seasons and 26 episodes, showcased the Emirates through experiences such as pearl diving, women's camel racing, mangrove planting and turtle rescue, and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority sponsored an episode of one of his shows. His newer series, Guy in the Sky, takes the format to Ireland, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Malta. He has been a brand ambassador for hotel and hospitality brands including Paramount Hotel, Rove Hotel and The Capital Club. That gives him a rare perspective on what makes a destination memorable, and how stories turn places into places people want to visit.
