Grit and resilience keynotes for Kuwait’s finance and energy leaders
Paris Norriss has lived and worked in the Gulf for 17 years, making TV shows that uncover the culture of the Middle East. He brings The Grit Code to organisations across Kuwait.
Transformation takes perseverance
Kuwait Vision 2035 aims to grow the private sector, develop human capital and position the country as a regional financial and commercial hub.
Change on that scale depends on people with the persistence to keep going through long programmes. The Grit Code helps leaders and teams build exactly that.
And it comes from a speaker who knows the region: Paris has spent the last 17 years working, filming and having adventures across the Gulf, making TV shows such as Guy in Dubai that uncover the culture of the Middle East.

Kuwait: a country of builders and traders
Kuwait has always been a trading nation. Long before oil, its merchants and sailors built a living from the sea, and that habit of hard, patient work still shows in the country's family businesses, banks and energy companies today.
Kuwait Vision 2035, known as New Kuwait, sets out to grow the private sector, develop national talent and make the country a regional financial and commercial hub. Those goals run for years, not quarters, and they ask a lot of the people delivering them: the finance team modernising a legacy system, the engineers running a major oil and gas project, the young graduate joining the private sector for the first time.
The Grit Code speaks directly to that kind of long, demanding work. Paris draws on 39 days at sea rowing the Pacific and seven marathons on seven continents in under six days to show how purpose, vision and a clear head under pressure carry a team through the stretch where most people give up.
Conferences and corporate events in Kuwait are often held at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, the Kuwait International Fairground in Mishref and the ballrooms of Kuwait City's hotels. Many organisations plan their main conference season around the cooler months and the calendar of Ramadan and Eid, so early contact helps secure the right date.
Built in the Gulf, tested at sea
Paris did not discover the Gulf on a speaking tour. He moved to Dubai around 2009 and spent the next 17 years presenting Guy in Dubai, which ran for four seasons and 26 episodes on Dubai Television, and building Blazing Sand Studios, the production company where he is CEO.
Kuwaiti organisers get a keynote that respects local business culture: the role of family firms, the weight of long-term national plans and the mix of national and expatriate talent in most teams. Paris adapts examples and tone in a briefing call, so the session fits a bank's leadership offsite as well as a university graduation week.
